Comes to an End
An impressive 20 games in 20 day stretch in which they went 14-6 came to an end with a loss to the Cubs. The Brewers strand 10 runners and Suppan, while hardly the Jugs pitching machine he was at the start of the season, had one poor inning that the offense couldn't overcome. Weeks homered to lead off the game and Villanueva and DiFelice combined for 3 innings of 1 hit ball.

That's Going to Smart Dempster
I wanted a little payback to the Cubs for the beatdown I had to witness in April, and this W went a ways towards that. Counsell and Braun went back to back in a 6 run 7th and Braun insited more venom when he stared down Dempster after his tater. Dempster had come high and tight and nicked Braun in the helmet the at-bat before, so Braun admiring his home run seemed warranted. It guaranteed a series win over the Cubs and made me feel a little easier about the Brewers wins over lesser opponents in a streak that has now erased most of that early season disappointment.

Braun didn't speak as vociferously about being nailed as he did in the Pittsburgh series, which is fine, but I'm sure Macha had something to do with that. Macha made a point of publically saying he preferred Weeks "head down" home run trot.
